You can imagine how honored and thrilled I was to join Allen Packwood at the Churchill Archives Centre at the University of Cambridge for a discussion of my book. Allen’s thoughtful questions helped me share the full story of Operation Catapult as well as my journey as a researcher and an author with an audience that included Christopher Somerville (also shown below; Christopher’s grandfather, Admiral Sir James Somerville plays a key role in my story), plus some longtime email-friends who I finally got to meet in real life, and several historians whose books I have enjoyed reading. I might one day have a more meaningful and memorable experience as an author. But there is a very real chance that I might not.
